The Public Ivy in Ann Arbor is hiring an Ombudsperson. The full-time position serves student body of 41,000 and reports to the Vice President for Student Affairs. Applicants must have a Master's degree or better, experience in student services administration or counseling, and knowledge of University practices.
Although the description is poorly written and the position does not report to a top administrator, the office has historically followed best practices for Organizational Ombuds. The search will fill the position vacated by the retirement of Robert Holmes and currently held on an interim basis by Tom Lehker. The position pays $60,000-$90,000 and applications are due July 23, 2010. (UM Job Posting.)
