The UN is accepting applications for the position of Director of the Office for Ombudsman and Mediation Services (UNOMS) in New York. In addition to serving as an Ombuds for UN staff, the Director also is responsible for managing UNOMS and serving as the representative to intergovernmental and other UN agencies.
Applicants must have an advanced university degree and at least 15 years of progressively responsible experience in international relations, administration, intergovernmental affairs or dispute resolution. Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of French or Spanish, training in alternate dispute and conflict resolution systems, and experience in a UN or related international organization are desirable.
