In April 2007, Lesley "Les" Miller Jr., former Florida state senator and minority leader, returned to his alma mater the University of South Florida, as director of community relations and Ombuds for students. This week, Miller filed paperwork to run for the Hillsborough County Commission seat. Miller said he will take leave time when he is campaigning, and has cleared that with superiors.
