The Minnesota State Bar Association's Alternative Dispute Resolution Conference on October 14-15, 2011, will feature a breakout session on Organizational Ombuds. Attorney Chuck Howard will be the speaker for "Resolving Workplace Conflict: The Role of the Organizational Ombudsman."
The description for the session is:
With increasing diversity in our workplaces, the fact that many workers are no longer employees and are connected to the workplace only electronically, and the economic pressure on organizations and people to perform, there is a greater need than ever to provide ways for people to confidentially raise issues and obtain guidance on how to resolve conflict. An organizational ombudsman program can address this need. This presentation will describe why we need workplace ADR mechanisms and how an organizational ombudsman can serve a valuable role in resolving conflict in the workplace.
