Mount Everest Glacier shrink dramatically
photos showing glaciers form a very large iceberg above the surface of Mount Everest has been greatly diminished.
Two photos that show it is quoted from the Telegraph, a warning about the decline in the amount of ice that occurred during the 80 years. The first images taken in 1921 by the British mountaineer George Mallory who later died while trying to conquer Everest.
The Asia Society and then assign some parties to take the same picture of the main Rongbuk glacier in the area of the northern slopes of Mount Everest, Tibet in 2007. Asia Society spokesman said that this image has been proven that ice began to melt due to temperature changes. This condition can threaten water supplies in areas with high populations such as India and China.
"This picture shows the shocking truth, the ice in the Himalayas began to decrease," he said. "This is a concern that the amount of ice will be lost."
Breashears retrace the steps of the British expedition team to Mount Everest in 1921 using photographs taken by Major Edward Wheeler and amateur photographer George Mallory who later died while trying to reach the summit of Everest in 1924.
The photos that appear in an exhibition in New York that shows how temperature changes can affect the environment in a broad scope.
Problem of glacier melt in the Himalayas are part of the 'glaciergate' is controversial. Scientific institutions Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change section of the UN, was forced to apologize after wrongly claiming that the Himalayan glaciers could disappear in the year 2035
