Susan Park, the former Ombuds for the University of Hawai'i Manoa has joined the Ombuds Office at the MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston. The office's Director, Anu Rao, said that Park started earlier this month. The office now comprises three full-time Ombuds, including Rita Burns, and one part-time Ombuds, Bill Brock.
Park was with the UHM Ombuds Office from 2006 until it was closed by budget cuts in 2009. She earned her BA and JD from UHM, and later was an adjunct faculty member in the Business School. She received an LLM from Yale Law School. Susan has held a number of positions in Hawai'i state government including Insurance Commissioner, Per Diem Judge for the District Court for the First Circuit, and an administrative hearings officer. She has written for the Journal of IOA and taught Ombuds 101. (UHM Ombuds; ADRhub.)
