Earlier this year, Adelina "Nina" Gomez became the first Ombuds for UCCS. Gomez is an Ombuds part time and remains a faculty member in the Department of Communications. “In many cases, conflicts boil down to how we communicate,” Gomez said recently. “Effective communication skills are often about listening -- and listening effectively.” She earned her BA and MA from Western New Mexico State University, and PhD from University of Colorado-Boulder.
