Malaysia's leading university, which has its main campus in Penang, announced plans to establish an Ombudsman Office. According to news reports, the office would provide a platform for its academic staff and undergraduates to voice dissatisfaction on various issues with the public university.
USM senior deputy legal adviser Khairul Anuar Che Azmi said Ombuds Officers will be selected from among the university's academic and non-academic staff by the end of this year. Additional details have not yet been published. (New Straits Times.)
